We're so cool, it hurts.

And now it's time for MY first official post from college.
This is my third day here and I guess I'll do the same thing Noelley did and just give a basic update/recap/opinion re: Fresno State.
Tuesday - I arrived at about 1:30ish, went to the Smittcamp office to pick up my laptop, but they informed me that they wouldn't be there until Wednesday morning at 7. So I left and went to go check in to the dorms. That whole thing went smoothly [other than my dad and I having to take about seven trips each, up to the second floor with all of my crap]. Once I got everything in, I started to unpack all my stuff and debate moving my furniture around. I settled on just leaving it the way it was until my roommate came so as not to start the year of with her yelling about how I rearranged my bed. At 6:00, Smittcamp ordered pizza for us so I went down to the Student Union to go mingle and eat free food. The mingling was slow in coming, I met three girls that were nice but semi ditzy. The boys, all maybe 30 of them [out of 75 total] were all huddled in the same corner of the room, away from all the girls. It was actually pretty sad. When we realized that the pizza wasn't going to replace actual conversation for the 2 hours that we had for dinner/mixer, people started to walk around and introduce themselves. No one else is from the Bay Area. There's a girl from Monteray, a guy from Modesto. And the rest of the cities I had never heard of before, for the most part. After the mingling, we moved down to the bowling alley at 8ish. We bowled until 10ish and then played pool. I beat some hot guy in air hockey and made friends with another attractive fella while bowling. At around 11:00ish people started to leave, but me and three other people decided to hang out for awhile. We first went to the one girl's brother's frat house to pick up stuff of hers that he had and then we went to FoodMaxx for an hour. It was pretty fun and we got to get to know each other a little better.
Wednesday was pretty laid back. I picked up my laptop at 9 and then went to get my parking permit. I checked out the prices of books [my god, what a small fortune] and then had to go to laptop training with Smittcamp folks. It was pretty boring. They told us early on how to use our wireless internet things. And they explained how we can talk to people [kinda like IMs] that had AirPort [some wireless connecty thing] even if we weren't online. Big mistake. We just talked to each other through out the whole training. Afterwards I went to Longs and then went to my cousins. I brought them back to the dorms to look around and then took them home. Then I went to bed at like 10:30. It was pitiful. I was sooo tired.
Today, I had to re-check in to the dorms to make it official. My roommate is supposed to come today, but I don't know when. And I'm sitting in the quad with a buch of other Smittcampers. We all have our laptops out and we look pretty lame. Either lame or like a wierd cult. [There's only a few places on campus that you can use the wireless internet at, and the quad is the closest to the dorms].
Overall, I like it so far. I like the people, for the most part. I like that in Smittcamp, we didn't have to put forth any effort whatsoever in checking in, doing all the registration stuff. They really held our hands through the whole thing. A few notes.
1) Of the 30 or so Smittcamp guys, about 10 are hot. I haven't seen the rest of the population because we checked in early.
2) I have soooo much free time. And I can't even host TV show parties because I have no TV yet [my roommates bringing hers]. I do, however, have about 25 movies that I've already lent out to people.
3) I've only eaten in the Residence Dining Hall once so far and it was just okay.
4) My showers are sooo much better than Noelle described hers.
5) The people that I've met are either overly nice or actually genuinely nice.
I have my room all decked out and I like it so far. There's more space that I thought there was going to be. I don't have a phone yet and I have yet to get a cell phone for down here. I've gotten used to living by myself, so I'l have to readjust for the roommate situation. I might get a job at the library with my aunt. My RA's seem really nice and they have good taste in movies.
That's pretty much it.
Sorry this post is so excruciatingly long. It's just that I either type everything out, or spend lots o' money trying to talk to all of you individually on the phone.
I'm having fun, so that's the most important.
I miss you guys and I'll talk to you once I get a phone.
